Many marques have been developed by men whose names are forever linked with the bikes they specialized in: Manx Norton with Francis Beart, Ray Petty ; Aermacchi with Dick Linton ; Ducati with Steve Wynne. All UK names but I'm sure in other countries there are similar associations.

Laverda was lucky to have equally dedicated, but sometimes lesser know, tuners in the UK. In the period when the 500s (& their larger capacity derivitives) were raced at national & international levels these men ensured the likes of George Fogarty & Malc Wheeler had competitive mounts to  match their riding talents.
